Allocation on the X6 has been steady but don’t expect any deals. With no major changes for 2027 and a platform refresh likely coming for 2028, we’re essentially moving end-of-cycle inventory at full margin — customers who want the new-gen will wait, and the ones buying now know what they’re getting.

The end-of-cycle buyer for…
The end-of-cycle buyer for something like the X6 is actually one of my favorite customers to work with because they have done their research and they have made peace with the tradeoff. They know the 2028 is coming. They are buying now because they want the current gen at a known quantity, they are not willing to wait 18 months with nothing to drive, and in some cases they actively prefer the outgoing design over whatever renders are floating around for the refresh. Where it gets complicated is the trade situation. If they are coming out of a 2023 or 2024 X6 the trade value conversation is not pretty right now and that can poison a deal that should be straightforward. The no-deal posture works until it does not and end of cycle with a softening trade market is where it starts to crack.
